Observation

During first semester of Teacher Academy, I observed Callahan Middle School. During the first part, I would be in ELL English. All the students in the class were from different cultures and learns English as a second language. Then lunch duty which was a bit crazy. It was during this time when I got a contrast of a typical middle school and the atypical one I attended when I was younger. Afternoon was spent helping kids with their reading or homework. I discovered that my interest was in the younger kids rather then the older ones.

In the class I observed during second semester of Teacher Academy, the teacher Mrs. Wolfe-guess is one to want some control on voice and management. She puts the students into “study hall” when they get too loud. But like any Montessori class, interacting when it helps the learning process is encouraged! She is also gives students a tough talk when fighting and arguing is happening along with any problems.
At the beginning of class in the morning and in the afternoon, the class goes time on the rug and does activities together.
Occasionally I would reinforce a lesson that a student had just learned from Ms. Wolfe-guess. I even taught a student the the 'ing' of the grammer box.

To Ms. Peterson,
While Trevor is making good progress in completing his assignments, but I have observed that his answers are almost identical to that of another student’s; save for one answer. I am sorry to say that your son Trevor may be cheating because of his need to catch up with the rest of the assignment.
But he is showing a good work ethic and willingness to complete the assignment. I may overlook this and give him second chance if Trevor either admits that he is cheating if he is, start doing work that expected of him, or a chance to talk with both of you.
Sincerely,
Ms. Gene
